We are proud to say that our organisation and much of our work is accredited by a long list of professional organisations.
Awarding bodies include the UK Charities Commission, the Health & Safety Executive (HSE) and the Maritime & Coastguard Agency (MCA). Our quality management systems comply with the ISO 9001:2015 standard.
Diving & Hyperbaric Medicine
Through our treatment, research and education activities we work closely with some highly respected organisations, e.g. the British Diving Safety Group (BDSG), BSAC/PADI/SAA, the Royal Marsden Hospital and Cancer Research UK.
Clinically, DDRC Healthcare and DDRC Wound Care are regulated by the UK Care Quality Commission (CQC). We are a member of the British Hyperbaric Association (BHA) and if you call the the BHA National Diving Accident Helpline our Diving Physicians will respond.
Two major bodies in the northern hemisphere review the evidence and make recommendations regarding appropriate medical conditions for which hyperbaric oxygen (HBO) therapy may be used; the European Committee for Hyperbaric Medicine (ECHM) and the Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society (UHMS). We follow their guidance in terms of the conditions that we will treat.
We offer an extensive range of courses accredited by national and international bodies, including IMCA for the Diver Medic Technician (DMT) courses, HSE for our Offshore Medic courses and others by the Diver Alert Network (DAN). ELCAS training credits can be used for our HSE Offshore Medic qualification through the Career Transition Partnership.
Our Operations Director is the current Chair of the European Baromedical Association (EBAss) and has been instrumental in supporting work across Europe to standardise training for hyperbaric medicine professionals e.g. the European Basic Hyperbaric Medicine (EBHM).
We are able to provide medical examinations which meet the needs of many highly regulated accrediting bodes.
We have doctors who are Approved Medical Examiners of Doctors (AMED) , are UK Sports Diving Medical Committee approved Medical Referees and/or who are registered to provide HSE approved Commercial Diver, Oil and Gas, or seafarer ENG1 medicals.
