DDRC Healthcare employs both permanent and bank contracted staff.
We employ doctors, nurses, chamber operators, researchers, trainers, engineers and organisational support staff. To meet the needs of our 24-hour services we require a wide variety of skills and flexibility. Bank staff come from all sorts of backgrounds including University students, medical, public services and from the military.
We are totally committed to maintaining high standards through ongoing training and opportunities to share skills.

Could your experience, knowledge or perspective help us shape the future of DDRC Healthcare?
DDRC Healthcare is looking for new volunteer Trustees to join our Board and help guide the future of our charity.
Based in Plymouth, DDRC Healthcare is a not-for-profit organisation and registered UK charity providing 24/7 diving and hyperbaric medical emergency services. We support divers and patients from across the UK and beyond, while also contributing to research, education and safety within the diving and hyperbaric community.
Our work spans treatment, research and education, with the mission:
To improve understanding of altered pressure and gas environments for the benefit of divers and patients through treatment, research and education.
We’re looking for new perspectives
Our Board already brings together a broad range of experience, including medical, engineering, scientific, legal, accountancy, business and diving expertise.
Now we're looking to broaden that experience further.
You don't need to be a diver, and there are no specific qualifications or diving experience required to become a Trustee. What matters is the experience, knowledge, perspective and enthusiasm you can bring to the governance and strategic direction of our charity.
Perhaps you have experience in business, finance, law, technology, fundraising, communications, charity governance, risk, strategy or another area that could benefit DDRC.
Or perhaps you simply have a different perspective that could help us think differently about the future.
What does being a Trustee involve?
Our Trustees are responsible for the overall governance, management and strategic direction of DDRC Healthcare.
The Board meets four times a year, in the evening, at DDRC in Plymouth. Trustees are volunteers and the role is designed to fit around other commitments.
It's a chance to use your experience for something that has a real impact - helping a charity that has supported the diving community and hyperbaric medicine for decades to continue developing and looking ahead.

We regularly have opportunities such as Student Nurse placements, short-term Junior Doctor contracts or PhD studentships (in partnership with other academic institutions). We are keen to talk with anyone who has ideas of how they could work with us. We hold hyperbaric medicine Taster Days for those who are interested in diving medicine and/or hyperbaric medicine and want to find out more about it.
