The process for HBO referrals and funding.
Emergency Referrals

Other Referrals
Patients can be referred by emailing DDRC@nhs.net Please include:
Patient: Name / date of birth / hospital number / address / 'phone number - details of condition
Referral consultant: Name / Hospital details / Contact email & 'phone number
Conditions: There are a variety of conditions that we can treat including Hypospadias and Sensorineural hearing loss (SSNHL) and these can be found here.
In 2013 the NHS regional funding agreement for hyperbaric oxygen (HBO) therapy in the South West underwent transition under the Specialised Services Commissioning to become a nationally commissioned service.
The list of indications we consider for Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBO) are those recommended by the Underwater Hyperbaric Medical Society (UHMS) and can be found in our 'conditions we can treat' section.

Referring a patient
- DDRC Healthcare can accept NHS referrals from Consultants.
- We can no longer accept elective referrals from General Practitioners.
- Patients must be non-smokers and/or not vaping.
If you are a patient who has been referred
You will receive all the information you need at your assessment appointment including all about your treatment and who you will meet.
Funding
- Funding is assigned from a national budget and not individual departmental budgets.
