Severe COVID-19 infections can have significant implications for diving and it is important that you speak to a dive referee especially if you were admitted to hospital or have not returned to your normal level of physical fitness. You will likely need a comprehensive medical assessment including chest imaging, lung function tests and an exercise test.
For divers who have had a mild infection there are no reports of significant problems whilst diving. If you have returned to their usual level of fitness you do not need a diving medical and can return to diving.
If you are unsure or would like to discuss this further with a dive physician then please book onto a telephone consultation.
