Emergency Services & Search and Rescue Liaison

DDRC Healthcare operates 24 hour emergency cover for diving and hyperbaric emergencies, including carbon monoxide poisoning and gas embolism.  Across the South West we liaise closely with ‘Search and Rescue’ and other emergency services to best treat our patients.

Along with the South West Ambulance Service Trust (SWAST) we also liaise with HM Coastguard, HM Coastguard Search and Rescue Bristow Newquay and both the Devon and Cornwall Air Ambulances.

A small team of our Diving Doctors recently visited Cornwall to meet up with HM Coastguard at Falmouth, HM Coastguard Search and Rescue based at Newquay airport and the Cornwall Air Ambulance.

By visiting these services the Doctors could see the processes and procedures in place to evacuate a diving casualty as swiftly and appropriately as possible.

National Diving Accident Helpline & Diving Emergency Assistance
