It was an absolute delight to welcome the ‘In Deep Dive Centre’ team of (left to right) Martyn, Hugo, Ben and James who came to present us with a donation and visit our hyperbaric medical centre in Plymouth.
Our Chamber Operator, Chris (pictured far left), appreciated your visit and your obvious skills and expertise in diving. Although we run a 24/7 emergency recompression service, we are happy to try and accommodate visits from anyone who is interested in learning more about our work and our facilities.
The In Deep team had raised an amazing £200 for us, which we were very pleased and thankful to receive.
According to the Plymouth based In Deep Dive Team Facebook post:
“Our team had the pleasure of presenting a £200 donation to DDRC Healthcare and were given a guided tour of the fantastic facilities they have to offer! ????
We raised the funds for this donation with the help of our very supportive dive club members by asking for small donations from each person on our annual British Fireworks Championship club night. We used both of our boats ‘Panther’ and ‘ Seeker’ to watch the fireworks from the water and hosted a BBQ with plenty of drinks, catering for 40 people. ????
This money has gone to a great cause as this charity looks after divers suffering from DCI, as well as providing medical support for those requiring re-compression therapy.”
Fundraising such as this supports our charitable objectives of: Treatment, Education & Training, and Research, for example by helping us to support the diving community with educational days and undertaking further research into diver health.
Anyone keen to fundraise for DDRC Healthcare is invited to make contact with Kathryn Epps, our Communications Manager, who will be glad to see if she can support you. Thank you.
