Based at the Hyperbaric Medical Centre in Plymouth Science Park, we offer excellent facilities and opportunities for practical, hands on training, which is widely accredited. We are adjacent to the South West’s major trauma hospital, Derriford Hospital and the Plymouth University Peninsula Schools of Medicine and Dentistry, as well as operating an on site busy hyperbaric medical facility.
We have clean, comfortable, air conditioned training rooms fitted with multi-media projection systems and an extensive range of equipment which allow us to give our students excellent hands on experience.
Some courses allow parts of the training to be covered through supported distance learning, reducing the time needed to be spent at our Training Centre. We are approved by the MoD as an Enhanced Learning Credits (ELC) approved training provider, number 3436.
Facilities & Equipment:
Equipment includes resuscitation manikins, fully stocked paramedic kits, oxygen administration systems, AEDs, scoop stretchers and hardware such as recompression chambers, compressors etc. Our facilities also include a resuscitation room, medical bays, plant room and even our own mock sick-bay. All of this allows us to ensure our students work with experienced trainers to maximise their experience of realistic situations and scenarios, for example learning how hard it can be to evacuate personnel in a real emergency situation.
