We are once again running our popular 1-day Dive Accident Responder Course, also know as DARC, specifically designed to meet the needs of recreational divers. Could you manage a diving accident? Would you know what to do if your buddy surfaced unconscious? What does it feel like to be recompressed? These are just some of the topics covered on this one day event at our chamber facility in Plymouth.
Practical training: Basic Life Support (BLS) with emphasis on dealing with a diving casualty and oxygen administration.
Lectures: on Decompression Illness (DCI) - avoiding it, recognising it, dealing with it and real life case studies of diving accidents.
Sea Survival Scenarios: To be confirmed.
Dry Dive: Experience a dry dive in the DDRC chamber (valid medical or self-certificate is required)
What you also get:
- DDRC course certification
- Refreshments throughout the day and lunch
- Free parking.
- PADI Recompression Chamber Awareness Certification and/or BSAC Dry Diver Experience Qualification Card (additional fee required. Please ask for information).
To ensure there are no delays with the decent phase of the drive dive, all participants need to be fit to dive and be able to clear their ears easily.
Please be aware that upon booking this course, you will be sent important paperwork that will need to be completed and returned prior to the day. Failure to return this paperwork may mean that you will be unable to participate in the dry dive.
