Medicals update 1st July 2020
Due to Coronavirus, we had to stop some of our occupational medicals. We have done a lot of work developing a system to enable us to do them safely and have reconfigured our building to help social distancing.
We are restarting some medicals at DDRC from 10th July. There will be some important changes to how things are done so please read all of the information here and on the joining instructions which will be emailed to you! This will help us make the process of getting your medical as safe and efficient as possible.
HSE Diving Medicals: Following national guidance we will not be able to perform spirometry at the moment. We hope we will be able to restart as soon as possible.
Therefore, we cannot perform medicals for new applicants, only renewals will be performed. Please do not book a medical if you have not had one before!
Medicals without spirometry will be valid for 6 months.
If you have had Covid symptoms then you may not be able to return to diving immediately and further investigations may be required – you will need to discuss this with the doctor at your appointment. Please bring any medical records from your GP / hospital that you have.
MCA ENG1 Medicals: We will be performing these as normal.
OGUK Medicals / Fit to train (EBS) certificates: We will be performing these as normal but will not be able to undertake spirometry (lung function / breathing tests). This is usually only necessary if you need a “Fit to train” (EBS) certificate and have a respiratory problem, such as asthma.
We will be performing these as normal but will not be able to undertake spirometry (lung function / breathing tests)
