The Company
DDRC Professional Services (Proservices) is a wholly owned trading subsidiary of The Diving Diseases Research Centre (DDRC) a charity which that has been in existence since 1980 (Charity Registration Number: 279652); the charity aims to provide hyperbaric oxygen treatment (HBO) to divers and other individuals who would see benefit. 
The Charities specific memoranda and articles set out that DDRC is committed to the provision of HBO as well as research into the effects of pressure variation on the human condition; DDRC also aims to provide training and education to personnel in the fields of medicine and diving. Proservices was incorporated on the 6th of October 1999. The company was formed in order to provide training and consultancy services to personnel working in the fields of medicine and diving.

 

Services
The company provides training to the offshore diving industry offering courses such as the International Marine Contractors Association (IMCA) recognised Diver Medic Technician (DMT), Assistant Life Support Technician (ALST), Air Diving Supervisor and the Competence Assessment for Experienced Divers. 
The company also offers medical courses to requirements laid down by the National Board of Diving and Hyperbaric Technicians (NBDHMT) such as Basic Hyperbaric Medicine, this is the qualifying course for personnel who need or would like to go on to sit the Certified Hyperbaric Technologist (CHT) and Certified Hyperbaric Registered Nurse (CHRN) qualifications. We have recently launched a range of courses aimed at Diving Physicians accredited by the Faculty of Occupational Medicine for the award of CPD points (Continuous Professional Development) and the company also carries out courses in association with the Peninsula Medical School and the University of Plymouth, as part of their doctor and nurse training courses.
DDRC Proservices ensures that by utilising highly qualified personnel with proven competency all courses offer extremely high quality to the client. The company has a very wide and loyal client base and since 1999 has been regularly supplying specialist training to overseas clients in the Far East and Middle East.
Europe is becoming a much more integrated community and to this end DDRC Proservices is taking a pivotal role by sitting on the education committee of the European Baromedical Association (EBAss) which is tasked with harmonising training standards in the Diving & Hyperbaric Therapy field throughout Europe.
