More than a third of all over-three-day injuries reported each year to the HSE and local authorities are caused by manual handling. These injuries can occur wherever people are at work. This course aims to increase candidates awareness of, and provide training in the issues surrounding manual handling, particularly the identification of a manual handling risk, the use of acceptable manual handling skills and the development of safe systems of work. |

The course consists of two modules which may be studied together or separately: Emergency First Response Primary Care (CPR) and Emergency First Response Secondary Care (First Aid). Together, these courses provide extensive instruction in CPR and first aid, together with essential skills such as Automated External Defibrillator (AED) use and emergency oxygen administration. |

The Emergency First Response (EFR) First Aid at Work (Great Britain) course is a Health and Safety Executive (HSE) approved first aid course for the purpose of meeting the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981. This programme meets the statutory needs of employers in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland needing at least one First Aider on the premises.
First aid at work training courses are normally delivered over 4 days and first aid at work re-qualification training is normally delivered over 2 days. |
