After achieving 'Gold' for the last two years DDRC this year went one better by being awarded a 'Platinum Award' by the Business Health Network.
The Business Health Network was set up in 1995 to work directly with employers and organisations in an around Plymouth.
The purpose of the Health @ Work award is to help workplaces implement healthy living policies and schemes.
The awards are assessed throughout the year and are awarded to a business on an annual basis.
The Business Health Network said DDRC was very proactive in caring for their employees health and wellbeing, and the calm and nurturing atmosphere is evident. Each employee receives information outlining support available, and making them aware of the open door policies in place.
Karen Fenwick, Administration Manager for DDRC said, Each year we have made significant improvements and this year we are very pleased to have achieved the Platinum Award, after being awarded Gold for the previous two years. Given the incredibly skilled work that we do, there is an understandable focus on personal development and practical training for all our staff. This year we have also held training in Diversity Awareness and Bullying and Harassment in the workplace for our managers and have introduced vocational NVQs for staff wishing to acquire a qualification in their role. Our patients are invited to complete patient satisfaction questionnaires that give feedback on the service that we provide and we constantly monitor our performance and look for ways to improve.
