Statement regarding recent press coverage of fraud trial PDF Print E-mail

DDRC wishes to make it clear that it has no connection whatsoever, with any business either currently located at Fort Bovisand, Plymouth or any business located at Fort Bovisand since DDRC relocated to our current location in 1996, nor with any of the individuals currently on trial for conspiracy to defraud.

The Diving Diseases Research Centre (DDRC), Registered Charity Number 279652, has centres in Plymouth, Devon and Newport, Gwent.

DDRC has been in existence in the UK since 1980 when it was established at Fort Bovisand, Plymouth.  However, in 1996, the charity relocated to purpose-built premises at the Hyperbaric Medical centre adjacent to Derriford Hospital.

As a medical charity DDRC treats divers with decompression sickness as well as patients referred to it by the National Health Service.

Its research work, patient care and promotion of hyperbaric medicine is acknowledged the world over and the charity is keen to avoid any unfounded association due to the nature of its work and its location coinciding with an unrelated business operation.

DDRC is stringently regulated by the Health Care Commission, the Health & Safety Executive and the British Hyperbaric Association,

In addition, DDRC is a non-profit-making organisation with policies and procedures in place to ensure the very highest levels of professionalism, integrity and commercial responsibility.

DDRC is totally committed to maintaining an hyperbaric oxygen service, alongside research and training programmes that are of a consistently exceptional quality with all profits reinvested into these activities.
