Since the Charity was established in 1980 the Diving Diseases Research Centre has been supported by many individuals and organisations that recognise the importance of the availability of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy and continued research being undertaken in the field.
The purchase of the main chamber at the Hyperbaric Medical Centre in Plymouth, was made possible through the fundraising campaign 'The Global Raffle 1992/3' which was generously supported by UK recreational divers and the diving industry.
Donations have also made possible the purchase of a Monoplace Chamber for the new South Wales Centre, an entertainment system for the main chamber, new seating, patient trolleys, funding for distinct research problems as well as many others.
As you will know, HBO therapy benefits not just divers but sufferers of many relatively common ailments such as diabetic foot ulcers and radiation tissue damage following radiotherapy.
